He received the B.S. degree in Earth Sciences from National Taiwan Normal University with honors fellowship, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from National Taiwan University. He is an associate professor of Department of Physics and School of Teacher Education at National Taiwan Normal University. Prior to joining the College, he was an Assistant Professor in Department of Physics at National Taiwan University.
He joined as a member of the SMA group for his master degree under the supervision of S. Matsushita in Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics where he has made contributions developing new image processing methods for the submillimeter interference array(ACA, Correlator for ALMA). Then he joined Prof. Tsai's Photonics/Nano-Science & Technology Laboratory to work toward a Ph.D. in nanophotonic semiconductor and plasmonic photocatalysis in the department of physics in National Taiwan University.
His research is aimed at understanding some of the basic principles of nanophotonics and the economy with which optics solves complex problems in the design of functional plasmonic semiconductor materials. He then used solid state principles as guidance in developing new, photonics based and nanofabrication strategies for advanced materials and devices of green technology.
