臺中市華盛頓高中外籍教師探究式教學工作坊研習演講

20位外師,來自不同領域,全球不同區域

我設計探究式教學的實際運用及案例,讓外籍教師們實際體驗探究式教與學的過程,親自體驗學生投入解決問題一邊建構知識的歷程,培養領域專家解決問題的過程性技能及高層次思考,從而得到學習成就感。同時強調IB全英語課程當中需要注意的日常用語(BICS)與認知學術語言(CALP)的配合運用。我自己研發的自然科學、社會科學、藝術人文領域課程,老師們很投入,最後Q&A過程,加拿大籍老師提到探究式教學與自身目前進行的教學方式不同,先前多是AP的授課經驗,偏向知識含量高的直接教學法,這樣以學生為中心的教學模式很值得投入嘗試。

Dr. Yu Lim Chen's presentation on the inquiry-based approach to teaching science was a refreshing and inspiring experience. His demonstrations on how to elicit students' intrinsic interest in scientific concepts have reignited my own passion for learning science and technology. Reflecting on his approach, I can't help but think that I might have continued studying physics if it had been taught in the IB way during my high school years. Dr. Chen’s insights have also given me valuable ideas on how to approach teaching the scientific aspects of psychology this term, and I’m grateful for the inspiration his presentation provided. I hope we can have more STEAM related workshop like this in the future! 

陳育霖博士關於探究式科學教學法的演講是一場令人耳目一新且充滿啟發的體驗。他示範了如何激發學生對科學概念的內在興趣,這不僅重新點燃了我對科學與技術學習的熱情,也讓我反思自己的學習過程。如果我在高中時,能以IB的方式學習物理,或許我會繼續鑽研這個領域。陳博士的見解也為我本學期教授心理學中的科學相關內容提供了寶貴的啟發,我對他的演講所帶來的靈感深感感激。我希望未來能有更多這樣與STEAM相關的工作坊!

First, I would like to thank you for hosting the inquiry-based learning workshop last week. I found it both engaging and insightful. The insights you shared on guided inquiry and the transition between BICS and CALP were particularly impactful. They underscored the importance of helping students grasp concepts in their everyday language before transitioning to a more academic language, and your emphasis on the explorative nature of learning through guided inquiry was particularly thought-provoking. These approaches highlight the essential role teachers play as mentors and guides, rather than just transmitters of information, across all subject areas. We would be delighted to have you back again and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration. I would be grateful for any way WIST and NTNU can support each other in these efforts.
